Istanbul is the only city in the world that straddles two continents: Asia and Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. Istanbul, while being the ancient capital of many empires, from Rome to the Ottoman era, it is not the modern capital of Turkey as Ankara is.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. Istanbul, which used to be known as <a title=\"Top Ten Best Museums in Istanbul\" href=\"http:\/\/www.turkeytravelcentre.com\/blog\/top-ten-best-museums-in-istanbul\/\">Constantinople<\/a> thanks to the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, is built on <strong>seven hills<\/strong> to match the seven hills of Rome.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. Under the Ottoman Empire, the city was renowned for having more than 1,400 public toilets<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5.
