Hello Michael I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our adventures in Turkey and to let you know (although I am sure you already do) what a wonderful guide you have in Mehmet. Throughout the trip he was very knowledgable and an extremely fine representative for both your company and for Turkey. The trip went off without a single problem and nothing was too much for us to ask of either Mehmet or John the driver. I will make sure I recommend your company to anyone I know who intends to travel to Turkey for a holiday. Best regards John and Trish Brandham

To Michael, Ihsan and all of our TTC guides and drivers. A huge congratulations for providing such a wonderful personalised tour. We followed the recommendation of friends who had travelled with TTC previously and have since recommended TTC to others who have been equally impressed. We added a few days onto the Best of Turkey Plus Gallipoli tour. Places of interest, hotels, transport and transfer arrangements and wonderful guides who were so knowledgeable but had the added facility of being great story tellers made our time in Turkey absolutely fabulous. No problem was too small and the personalised attention from Ihsan in Istanbul was to be commended. Thank you. Kerry Rose and Rosemary Saur

Hello Ihsan, I would like to thank you, your agency and network of tour guides for the excellent experience I had while in Turkey. Everything was rather seemless, which was very important to me as a woman travelling solo. I very much appreciated meeting you, and the exchanges we had both by phone and email. You have been very professional and obviously enjoy your work. Elaine

Dear Michael, We are back home and we were most satisfied with our tour in Turkey that you arranged for us. The guides were very well informed and also great company. We were very impressed with every thing that we saw and did. There were so many high lights that it is impossible to name any one in particular. We found the hotel in Istanbul most comfortable and the staff very caring and helpful. We were pleased that it was so convenient to every where for as I mentioned John has a mobility issue so we were able to get around easily. Thank you and your staff for making our trip such a wonderful experience.

Ataturk’s Speech about Gallipoli: The Greatest in Turkish History

Many famous leaders in history are remembered for their speeches and not just their accomplishments. These include Martin Luthor King whose speech I have a dream” was seen as a turning point in the struggle for equality of black Americans.

Winston Churchill was steadfast in the determination of his soldiers and told them “We will fight on the beaches”  and of course, Julius Caesar shouted the famous sentence “Veni, Vidi, Vici” which translates into “I came, I saw, I conquered”.

When thinking about Turkish history, the most widely spoken about man is Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who is known for leading the Turkish war of independence, which led to the formation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923.

Famous Yalis of the Bosphorus

Most attention focused on the Bosphorus talks about its role separating the east and west.

The long stretch of water divides the exotic city of Istanbul into two continents, defining the land mass as either Asian or European.

Many wars and battles took place in the Bosphorus as powerful rulers aimed to gain control of this strategically important strait.

These days, it is more a tourist attraction than a battleground.

Cruises along the Bosphorus pass several historic sites including castles and palaces that stand proud on the waterfront, surrounding the  impressive yali houses from the last four centuries.
